
Requirements for Gestational Surrogates
How to become a surrogate?
All gestational surrogates must:

Be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 21-44 years of age.

Have given birth to at least one child of her own, with an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery history.

Have custody of - and be parenting - her children (joint custody is okay).

Pass comprehensive background, psychological and medical screenings.
-
Not be reliant upon government assistance.

Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of no higher than 35.

Have a valid U.S. driver's license and her own reliable transportation.

Have the full support of her spouse/partner.

Not use drugs, smoke cigarettes, or abuse alcohol (the same applies to anyone in your household).

Be willing to have IUD removed. Women with IUDs/the shot are welcome to apply, and should understand that they may be placed on hold until medical clearance is given.

Be mature, responsible, honest and willing to commit to the screening, IVF and surrogacy process
