Team Member Spotlight: Catherine

1) What do you do at AFS?
What do you love most about your position?
As the Surrogate Intake Coordinator, I work with surrogates from the time they first apply until they're ready to start the matching process. I am a total people person and getting to interact with so many kind-hearted women who want to help others build families, just gives me all the warm and fuzzies everyday!
2) Where were you born and raised? What brought you to Oregon?
I was born in Santa Cruz, California and lived there until I was a teenager. We moved up here as a family for personal reasons and I'm so glad that we did! I miss the beaches of my childhood, but I'd take PNW rainy days and green treelines over those Cali rays anyday.
3) How would you describe yourself?
Chatty, creative, and nurturing.
4) What do you like doing in your spare time?
Well I'm a mom of 4, a wife, and a small business owner on top of my work life here at AFS (I'm also a surrogate gearing up for my second journey) so I truly don't have much spare time. We like to sneak in family board games when we can, and I'm an avid baker. I definitely like to stay busy!
5) If you could posses one super-human power, what would it be?
This is hard. Either to fly, or to go invisible. Reading minds is kind of tempting too - but I can imagine that getting annoying after you learned all the secrets you wanted to know ;)
6) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Does "carbs" count?! Seriously bring them on! Pasta, cake, rice, bread...mmmmm!
